World
Link Partner's purpose is to provide the opportunity for
people of Guatemala to make the choices that affect their
lives. World Link Partners does not have its own
project. We identify and support existing small
projects. This allows us to maintain objectivity and to insure
that
projects are high quality and accountable. We work on behalf of both the
donor as well as the recipient.
We carry out our
work in
primarily four steps:
First: We
identify small projects/organizations
in need. These
are smaller projects that are already working in a village, that have identified community needs, have
established trust, have clear goals and objectives, and have an established
track record. Projects include education and training,
women and children’s issues, business development (microfinance),
health and nutrition.
Second:
We provide resources to these organizations. Resources
include funding, provision of services,
professional consultation, networking, and promotion.
Third:
We monitor and evaluate. Because we are
selective and choose to work with a few small quality
projects, we are able to work closely with the directors to
monitor and evaluate the projects,
and to insure transparency and sustainability.
Fourth:
We work on behalf of donors by insuring quality
projects, with minimal overhead expenses*. All of the
project directors we work with have had several years
experience in their projects, and are committed and dedicated
volunteers. We have one paid staff member. We
provide both on-line
and personal (e-mail) updates, and financial accounting to
donors. We encourage donors to come to Guatemala, visit
or work and
the projects they are supporting. World Link will make
logistical arrangements for donors to visit the
projects and travel throughout the country.
90% of the
donations goes directly to the project suport
10% goes to web-site and
on-line expenses, part-time salary for 1 staff, and minimal
travel expenses.
