World Link
Partners was established in 1997. It is a 501(c) (3)
not-for-profit corporation. Our work builds upon over 20 years of
academic travel, living and working in developing countries.
Currently all of our work is in Guatemala.
Our work
began in Guatemala in 1997 with micro-credit for the
establishment of small communal “banks” for women. We provided
training in business and financial management to develop and
strengthen small businesses. Due to other responsibilities and
work in Mongolia our work in Guatemala was suspended until
2005. We are now expanding our work in Guatemala to
provide funding for organizations involved in community
projects including micro credit, educational training,
maternal and child nutrition,
medical services and
emergency relief.
As indicated, in 2002
World Link also expanded its work into Mongolia where we
established a children's center and school in
conjunction with the city of Ulaanbaatar.
In 2005
we moved to Antigua, Guatemala because we felt that it was
increasingly important to be on-site with the projects we
are supporting. This provides more opportunity to
work closely with projects, the people working with humanitarian
projects, and travelers who may want to become involved with
projects.
More
detailed information about the projects we provide support for
is outlined on our "projects" page.
